If you get a virus on your computer you have most likely either been on a website you should'nt have visited or you have opened a mail attachment in an email that you recieved.
In most cases these viruses are harmless but they slow down you computer and in bad cases they will act as a tool for hackers to send out more viruses and spam through your email client or be used for "phishing".
